Low-Paid Workers Hurt More During Surge Of Job Losses During The Pandemic

A study by the Brookings Papers on Economic Activity showed which jobs were hurt more during the Coronavirus pandemic. According to Business Insider, the lowest-paid workers lost four times more jobs than other workers. More than 35 of workers earning the lowest wages were laid off through mid-April. The report also showed job losses for women were about four percentage points higher than they were for men. The study supports the notion that the pandemic enhanced social class inequality in the U.S.
