Dr Noor Hisham: IMR to conduct studies on Covid-19 virus mutation

The Ministry of Health has directed the Institute of Medical Research (IMR) to conduct studies on mutation of the Covid-19 virus to learn more of its characteristics.
Health director-general Datuk Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said that on Monday when asked about the new Covid-19 strain, known as G614, believed to be spreading from Europe to the United States.
Dr Noor Hisham added that the studies could also help his ministry to develop the vaccine and determine treatment for Covid-19 patients.
