Dinosaur statue damaged in car crash has leg splint fitted in Thailand

A dinosaur statue that was hit by a car has been given a leg splint - to warn other drivers to be more careful.br br The enormous brown sculpture of a diplodocus stood on a grass verge on a road in Khon Kaen, northeastern Thailand but a car crashed into it on July 31.br br The car driver had paid for the damage to the fibreglass and covered the repair costs but the authorities decided to put a splint on the dinosaur's leg.br br Local street vendor Kanchit Samran, 47, who witnessed the accident, said that the authorities wanted the splint to be a sign to warn the road users to be careful.br br He said: "The leg was actually repaired but the authorities had an idea to use the accident in a beneficial way.br br "They decided to put a splint on it to remind the people about the accident and warn them to be more careful while driving.
