US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said Washington wants to see “untrusted”  Chinese-owned apps removed from US tech companies’ app distribution platforms. Speaking on August 5, 2020, Pompeo said his appeal to the likes of Google and Apple is part of an expansion of America’s “clean network” campaign to reduce potential security risks to the US from other countries.
