It's time now for our Friday edition of Arirang's 'The World Now'. I'm Kim Jae-hee.
Let's start off with some updates on one of the strongest storms to strike the U.S. in a long time, Hurricane Laura.
The hurricane slammed into the Gulf Coast as a Category 4 storm early on Thursday local time.
It weakened to a tropical storm as it moved inland, but still left a trail of destruction to Louisiana and far-eastern Texas.
According to the Governor of Louisiana, four deaths have been tied to the storm in Louisiana, all related to falling trees.
Strong gusts and heavy rain tore off roofs and knocked out power for hundreds of thousands of homes.
Fields and roads have also been flooded.
A chemical plant caught fire in Laura's wake on Thursday morning in Louisiana, sending thick black smoke into the sky.
But the Governor of Texas said the storm could have been far worse.
"I ask everybody how they feel about working their way through this hurricane. Everyone pretty much had the same phrase. And that is we dodged a bullet, it could have been far worse."
President Trump says he will visit the Gulf Coast on Saturday or Sunday to survey the destruction.
