Buddhist waterfall meditation helps Japanese cope with the stress of Covid-19 pandemic

Some Japanese are trying to overcome the stress of the ongoing coronavirus pandemic by turning to a form of meditation that takes place under a waterfall. Known as takigyo, the centuries-old practice is a Buddhism purification ritual meant to cleanse the mind, body and soul. Participants meditate under a mountain waterfall that is a chilly 10 degrees Celsius (50 degrees Fahrenheit).
