25% Of Police Officers Have Symptoms Of Mental Health Disorders

One in four police officers in a major U.S. city were found to be suffering from mental health conditions.br The conditions present in these officers were depression, anxiety, post-traumatic stress disorder, and suicidal ideation.br According to a new survey published Wednesday, less than 20 of the affected officers had sought treatment.br The findings are based on a survey of working police officers in the Dallas-Fort Worth area.br For their study researchers surveyed 434 patrol officers working for a large police department.br According to UPI, 82 of the responding officers were male and in their 30s.
