The ruling BJP has retained majority in the Karnataka bypolls by bagging six seats out of 15 seats for a comfortable majority in the 225-member Karnataka Assembly. Speaking on the results, Congress leader DK Shivakumar said, “We have to agree with the mandate of the voters of these 15 constituencies. But I could see that the people of Karnataka have accepted the defectors. Ultimately, we have accepted defeat, I don't think we have to be disheartened.
