The Afghanistan cricket team will be playing the World Cup tournament for the second time. They featured for the first time during ICC CWC 2015. The ICC took the decision to let only the top 10 Test playing nations. Afghanistan defeated West Indies in the final of CWC Qualifying series to feature in the World Cup team list.
