Hong Kong could slash carbon emissions 70% with more ambitious goals, says former observatory head

Hong Kong could easily cut its carbon emissions by up to 70 per cent if the city switched to renewable energy sources for power generation, according to meteorologist Lam Chiu-ying, the former director of the Hong Kong Observatory from 2003-2009. In an interview with the South China Morning Post, Lam also admitted that there must be sufficient political will to make the change.
