Thai police use water cannons, tear gas on protesters as parliament debates constitution changes

Following months of protests in Thailand, protesters staged another demonstration outside the country’s parliament on November 17, 2020, as lawmakers started debating proposed changes to the constitution. Lawmakers began a two-day session on November 17, to vote on seven draft amendments to the constitution. Outside parliament, police used water cannons and tear gas to disperse the crowds.
