India has the world's second-highest number of Covid-19 infections, after the United States. The country has recorded over 44,000 fresh coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours, according to data released by the Union Health Ministry on Monday. India's total cases is now more than 91 lakh; and with over 500 fresh deaths, the toll has mounted to more than 1 lakh.
