The first color film adaptation of Alice in Wonderland was made in 1949 and premiered in America in 1951. It was a mix of live-action and stop-motion animation, as well as a FrenchAmerican production so the film was filmed in both French and English. Lou Bunin produced it and directed the stop-motion animation. Dallas Bower directed the live-action sequences in the English version of the film. Carol Marsh starred as Alice.
