The government is looking at alternatives to a wealth tax, including a Goods and Services Tax (GST), to raise funds for its coffers, says Mohd Shahar Abdullah.br br The Deputy Finance Minister II said that when answering Wong Shu Qui (PH-Kluang) in the Dewan Rakyat on Thursday (Dec 10), adding that the government is currently studying the feasibility of reintroducing the GST and other consumer-based tax models after taking all aspects into consideration.br br Shahar also said that at the moment, the government is focusing on improving governance and has set up a multi-agency task force to better manage the nation's finances.
