Dame Barbara Windsor: ‘EastEnders’ Star Dies at 83

Dame Barbara Windsor, best known for her roles in the Carry On and EastEnders films, has died aged 83. br br Her husband Scott Mitchell said in a statement: “It is with deep sadness that I can confirm that my darling wife Barbara passed away at 8.35pm on Thursday 10 December at a London care home. br br “Her passing was from Alzheimer’sdementia and Barbara eventually died peacefully and I spent the last seven days by her side.” br br She starred as landlady Peggy Mitchell in EastEnders, alongside on-screen children Ross Kemp and Steve McFadden. br br Her last appearance on the show was in 2016, the same year she was awarded a damehood for her services to charity and entertainment.
