Brad Stevens defended Marcus Smart taking open shots in the preseason, but continued to emphasize that the Celtics can't be doing too much to try to replace Kemba Walker and missing pieces. He said the expectation for Smart is to organize the Celtics as Stevens wraps training camp by handing out roles and expectations to the different Boston players, a sign that he could be reigning in Smart after shooting 1-for-8 from three in the preseason while giving away some questionable turnovers.
