Twitter is shutting down its live-streaming app Periscope by March 2021 due to the declining usage over the past years and high supporting costs. Twitter mentioned that Periscope is having an unsustainable maintenance-mode state. Periscope’s core capabilities have been integrated into the social media platform. Twitter is planning to remove the app from all the app stores. Twitter also stated in a blog that the capabilities of the Periscope team and the infrastructure they created has already permeated Twitter.
