Wits University's Vice-Chancellor, Zeblon Vilakazi, says the University didn’t call police on protesting students. He says because the chaotic events which resulted in the death of a civilian took place outside the parameters of the university. stating that they were public policing issues. He also says that campus security personnel are not armed.
