Bharti Kannamma, who is a transgender, is contesting the upcoming Tamil Nadu assembly election from Madurai South constituency. He has promised to make Madurai a model city. She is contesting from the New Generation People's Party. Speaking to ANI, Bharti said, 'I am proud to contest for the first time in India as a transgender'.
