TD GARDEN - Brad Stevens was interviewed pregame before the Celtics’ matchup vs the Minnesota Timberwolves. He commented on swingman Evan Fournier and when he could be expected to return to the team, as well as discussing big man Tacko Fall’s minutes.
Stevens said that Fournier “won’t be traveling” with the team on their upcoming road trip. This means that, including tonight’s game vs. the Timberwolves, Fournier will miss at least four more games.
He also spoke about center Tacko Fall and his ability to play big-time minutes. “First of all I am comfortable using Tacko. He's had a good impact on the game when he's been in the game almost every time,” said the coach. Fall has seen more playing time since the team traded away Daniel Theis at the trade deadline.
Stevens also gave a statement on how well he thinks the team has been improving in recent games. “Yes, we are improving… I can see that both statistically and just in watching” the games, he said. Boston is 5-3 in their last eight games.
