The AMA has written to the Prime Minister and the Federal Health Minister, requesting they immediately withdraw the threat of jail or fines for Australians stranded in India who attempt to return home. AMA President Dr Omar Khorshid says while the association supports the pause on flights to give Australia time to better prepare its hotel quarantine system, the potential penalties have caused a lot of distress.
