Aaron Nesmith was interviewed after the Celtics’ pregame practice ahead of their Game 4 matchup vs the Brooklyn Nets. He talked about playing in front of a full house at TD Garden tonight, having to guard James Harden, and how Jayson Tatum was able to step up in Game 3.
Nesmith was asked about playing in front of a full house at TD Garden for the first time tonight. This was his response: “The energy level in the Garden, I’m very excited to see it… the energy from the fans and how great the Boston fans are… I’m just very excited to play in front of them.” He followed it up with this as well: “I’m very excited to play in front of a full TD Garden… even with the Garden not at full capacity I can feel the love… to have everybody in there and that place rocking I can’t wait to see.”
Nesnmith also talked about guarding Harden, specifically referencing the play where Harden hooked his arm and drew a foul last game: “I mean you kind of said it there, it's frustrating… it's pretty clear to see that he did it, but at the same time I know he’s going to do it… make sure I don’t leave my hand in there… just got to be better, take it with a grain of salt… like I said before, every play matters in the playoffs… I got to let it go and move on to the next one.”
Lastly, Nesmith commented on how Tatum was able to step up in Game 3 and lead the C’s to a much-needed win: “Playing at home and in front of fans… it’s a comfort level for him… jstu understanding, we go as he goes, we’ll go as far as he takes us… he just led us to victory… we’ll follow him again into Game 4 and every game after that.”
