The vaccine rollout has not been moving as fast as many would have wanted. This has led to calls for the government to acquire different vaccines from other countries. But they all have to be approved by the South African Health Products Regulatory Authority first. The Regulatory Authority said earlier this week that the synovial application is at a very advanced stage.
