Taking cognizance of the assault on a 45-year-old Muslim man in Kanpur, the National Commission for Minorities has sent a notice to the Commissioner of Kanpur Police. The case pertains to a mob beating up, parading a Muslim man and forcing him to chant 'Jai Shri Ram' over allegation that he was forcing a Hindu woman to convert to Islam. Three men have been arrested in connection with the case.
