Endometriosis is a chronic condition, where cells resemble the lining of the-uterus. These are called endometrial cells. These cells develop outside the-uterus (such as in the fallopian tubes, ovaries, and intestines in endometriosis) in up to 7-10 percent. Women who have endometriosis have an increased incidence of irritable bowel syndrome.
