Polish forces deployed tear gas and water cannons against migrants trying to cross into the country from Belarus on November 16, 2021. An estimated 4,000 migrants, mostly from the Middle East, have endured freezing weather while stuck in camps on the Belarus side of the border. Some migrants threw stones at Polish police, who reportedly claim the migrants are getting support from Belarusian forces.
