A stroll through Cairo's Christmas market

pFor this special Christmas edition of Eye on Africa, we've prepared a range of feel-good and culturally significant stories for you to enjoy. pbr Families in Cairo of all religions drop by the city's Christmas market to enjoy the sights, smells and sounds of the annual bazaar. Meanwhile in southern Benin, Christmas lights aren't the only signs of the end-of-year celebrations. Children take part in the "Kaleta" tradition; wearing masks, playing instruments and dancing for neighbours. It's a custom that dates back to freed Afro-Brazilian slaves from the 19th century. Plus, we also take a look at some of Africa's latest additions to UNESCO's Intangible Cultural Heritage list. Congolese rumba and Morocco's ancestral horse performance Tbourida or "Fantasia" have been recognised for their impact.
