George Warnock was a personal secretary for William Branham’s campaign partner Ern Baxter who is widely credited for the spreading of the Manifest Sons of God doctrine. The doctrine which originated from William Branham is the notion that at the End of Days, God would manifest Himself in leaders of the movement. This lays the foundation for these leaders to become an authority on doctrine and scripture, without even understanding the text. William Branham himself frequently said, “I don’t know the book, but I know the author”.br br The result of Branham’s theology is what leaders in the movement refer to as the “Spoken Word”. Jim Jones, William Branham, and others went so far as to give their sermons this “Word” authority. When members of the movement refer to the “Word of God” they refer to the new ideologies introduced by leaders of the sect. Attempts to reason with members of the sect using Scripture is useless; the written Bible has been replaced by the “Spoken Word”. Instead, members refer to “signs and wonders” as proof of their new replacement for the Bible.
