The Ashtami date of Navratri is considered very important, it is known by both the names Mahaashtami and Durga Ashtami. On the eighth day of Navratri i.e. today, there is a law to worship Maa Mahagauri. Her complexion is as white as milk, she is called Mahagauri because of her pride. They are unfailingly fruitful. By worshiping them, all the filth of a person are washed away and the sins accumulated in the past are also destroyed. By worshiping them, a person becomes entitled to inexhaustible virtue.
