Petrol Diesel Price excise duty: In a step to bring down the fuel prices, the Centre reduced the Central excise duty on petrol by Rs 8 per litre and that on diesel by Rs 6 per litre. Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman made several announcements today, including a sharp cut in central excise duty on fuel prices. Nirmala Sitharaman said that the government would pay a subsidy of Rs 200 per LPG cylinder to the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana's nearly 9 crore beneficiaries.
