Days after Azimio presidential candidate Raila Odinga stated that he would reform the manufacturing sector to reduce the intake of mitumba in the country and promote clothes made in Kenya, a section of Kenyans took to the social media to express different opinions regarding his statement.br br Most traders at Gikomba also weighed in on the matter, saying the move to reduce Mitumba intake will be catastrophic to their economic well-being. Speaking exclusively to Standard Digital, some women traders were quick to explain how the business has helped them grow, pay fees, and even acquire parcels of land. br br They further said that should the Government go into manufacturing, it should put proper infrastructure and plan so as not to sideline Mitumba sellers.
