14 NDRF teams deployed, several rescue operations underway in Guwahati
Guwahati (Assam), With the situation further worsening in Assam due to incessant rains and floods, the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) is working on several rescue operations and has deployed more than 400 people in the affected areas to help the people out in Guwahati. “Entire Assam is affected due to floods. All our teams are deployed, around 14 teams officially, but we have more than those teams which are working. Rescue operations are still going on. We've moved additional teams from HQ to different places in Assam,” said 1st Battalion NDRF Commander HPS Kandari. “14 teams are deployed. In terms of manpower, more than 400 people are deployed,” he added.
