Indonesian couple make haj pilgrimage for parents unable to travel to Mecca amid pandemic

The year 2022 marks the first time since the start of the Covid-19 pandemic that Indonesian Muslims will be allowed to embark on once-in-a-lifetime haj pilgrimages. Among those heading to Mecca is an Indonesian couple who are making the trip as proxies for elderly parents unable to go because of health issues and Covid-19 restrictions imposed by authorities in Saudi Arabia and in Jakarta.
