Ron DeSantis br made the announcement on Aug. 31.br The lawsuit alleges that the U.S. Food and Drug Administration has stalled Florida's attempts to br import prescription drugs from Canada for nearly two years.br Florida was the first state in thebr U.S. to apply for the program.br The state seeks to be able to get cheaper prescription drugs from the country's neighbors br up north to treat a variety of illnesses. .br Politico reports Florida residents would save about $150 million in prescription costs. .br In 2021, President Biden issued an executive order directing the FDA to get the program going.br DeSantis had hoped Biden's support would get the FDA to approve Flordia's application, but nothing ever happened.br I didn’t anticipate getting br to this point where even br the administration says br they support it and then br we just toil for months br and months, Gov.
