Tiger Woods put down the clubs and picked up the bag while caddying for his 13-year-old son in Florida over the weekend.

Team USA captain Davis Love III revealed that he had spoken to Woods from the sixth tee during the Presidents Cup at Quail Hollow in North Carolina.

But Woods had more pressing golf matters closer to home on his hands when his teenage son Charlie competed in the Notah Begay III Junior National Golf Championship.

The golf legend caddyed when his son scored a career-low 68 in Sunday's tournament. Woods was seen beaming as he drove the buggy alongside his son.

Charlie showed hints of his father's brilliance on the back nine when he hit two birdies and an eagle on the par-5 14th hole.

"Dad told me for him to be patient," Charlie revealed after finishing tied for fourth.

He just plays golf constantly. Be patient, play, focus on each shot, don't look too far. He stays in the game.

Charlie finished outside the top three in the men's competition 12-13 after four scorecards after 36 holes.

The pair have been teammates in the PNC Championship in recent years. The Woods duo finished second in the tournament last year.

Love revealed Woods' participation in the Presidents Cup, which Team USA won 17.5-12.5 on Sunday.

"He has talked to a lot of people in the team," the captain told reporters on Thursday.

“I was standing there on the 6th tee for an hour, a long time, so I called him and we talked for a while. And I said, well, at least you're seeing it on TV. Call us if you see something. He is having fun.

It's been a few months since Woods competed, with the 15-time major winner's last outing at St. Andrews for the 150th Open Championship.
