Deepavali break: ’Balik kampung’ exodus begins, traffic slow on major highways

The ‘balik kampung’ or homecoming rush for the Deepavali holidays started Friday evening, and as at 2.30pm Saturday (Oct 22), traffic flow was slow on major highways, with an increase in the volume of vehicles.

Meanwhile in Johor Baru, Johor, videos circulating on social media showed the Customs, Immigration and Quarantine (CIQ) complex packed with travellers Friday evening
