In 2019 Allyson Felix left Nike, her primary sponsor, because she faced a 70 percent pay cut after becoming pregnant. In 2021 Felix launched her own shoe and apparel company for women and by women: Saysh. In her career, Felix earned 11 Olympic medals (including three golds in 2012) and 19 at World Championships. Based on her own experience, Felix is an advocate for maternal health particularly regarding Black women, who are more likely to encounter pregnancy complications.
