Human Resources Minister V. Sivakumar told reporters on Wednesday (Dec 21) that it is now compulsory for employers to seek employment approval for foreign workers from the Labour Department director-general.br br He said this approval will cover all categories of foreign workers, including expatriates, under amendments to the Employment Act 1955.
