January is Poverty Awareness Month, and a quick look at the national inflation rate shows that it's coming down, dropping to 6.5 percent in December of 2022. However, rising costs continue to be a contributor to local and national poverty rates. The Community Action Partnership of Kern County is working to relieve the stress of poverty in our community.
