Venkappa is Bagalkot's very own national cyclist. He is one of the 6 members of the Indian National Cycling team. Having trained at the Bagalkot sports hostel, and then at the Sports Authority of India in Delhi, he has won several international awards over the years. He uses his off time to teach his juniors tips and tricks that will help improve their form.
