Mavericks Three Game Losing Streak Ends After 115-90 Win Over the Heat | Luka Dončić 34 pts, 12 reb, 7 ast

The Dallas Mavericks (24-22) beat the Miami Heat (25-21) 115-90 in American Airlines Center on Friday Night.

Dallas played very balanced basketball in the first quarter. They moved the ball around efficiently and noticed when Luka Doncic was getting double-teamed leaving a man open. All five starters scored and Reggie Bullock drained two three’s off the bench. Doncic hit a buzzer beater three-pointer at the end of the quarter to give the Mavs a 31-19 lead.

The Heat struggled from the floor in the first quarter, they shot 35 percent from the floor and hit zero three-pointers while Dallas shot 45 percent from the floor and drained six three’s.

Doncic led all scorers in the first quarter with 11 points, three rebounds, and three assists.

The Mavs continued to hit three-pointers in the first half creating a big lead despite Miami having a top five defense in the league. Every player contributed on offense and it seemed like nobody on the Mavs could miss a three-pointer.

With Doncic on the bench the first half of the second quarter Spencer Dinwiddie went on a hot streak scoring 11 points for Dallas and taking the rains while Doncic took a breather.

Miami got back within 10 points forcing a Dallas timeout. The Heats comeback didn’t last long as the Mavs continued to dominate on offense dropping three after three. Mavs took a 60-51 lead entering the half. Doncic led all scorers with 19 points and was perfect from beyond the arc shooting 4-of-4.

Dallas continued their lead in the third quarter. Midway through the third Dallas had scored 14 three-pointers while the Heat only had three. Dallas took a 17-point lead late in the third that ended up being a 24 point lead entering the fourth. The Heat could not get anything to fall their way. They shot 45 percent from the floor and 20 percent from beyond the arc entering the fourth quarter.

Doncic played the entire third quarter and finished with 32 points.

The Mavs continued their lead the entire fourth quarter and finished out a 115-90 win over the Heat.

Doncic led all scorers with 34 points, 12 rebounds, and 7 assists.
