A grand homage to Jade Emperor on his birthday

Every year the Hokkien community celebrates the birthday of the Jade Emperor on the ninth day of the Chinese New Year.

The celebration is also regarded as Hokkien New Year.

On Jan 29, devotees gathered at Weld Quay and Chew Jetty in George Town, Penang to pay homage to the Jade Emperor.
