Tariq bin Ziyad was born in 675 AD in the western province of Algeria. Tariq bin Ziyad was the owner of tall stature. There are various traditions related to their descent. The first tradition links them to the African Berber tribe. According to another tradition, he belonged to the province of Hamadan in Iran. The third and last tradition says that his ancestors belonged to the Hadramaut region of Yemen.
