The movie is technically a prequel to Michael Bay's Transformers movies in the timeline. While the live-action franchise has included plenty of retcons, the prominent roles that Optimus Prime and Bumblebee play in later movies mean they can't die. That could mean the earlier Transformers movies prevent Scourge from killing any character of greater significance.br br The workaround for Transformers: Rise of the Beasts could be Scourge killing some of the newer characters the movie introduces. This could include anyone from Mirage to Optimus Primal to Airazor. Scourge killing these Transformers might not pack the same emotional impact as seeing Optime Prime die for instance, but Transformers: Rise of the Beasts cannot kill Prime or Bumblebee based on future movies. They are also the franchise's biggest characters who should be kept around for the new trilogy too.
