Kid Cudi looked up to Kanye West from the moment he met him. Kanye mentored Cudi and he rose to sudden fame but the pressure of his rising star further pushed his anxiety and led him down a dark path of drug abuse. Cudi had differences with his mentor but it wasn't until Kanye attacked him publicly for his friendship with Pete Davidson that Cudi saw how unhealthy remaining close to Kanye would be to his mental health that he worked so hard to gain thus driving him to permanently end the friendship.
