The cost of basic commodities and services has soared in Sudan as fighting in the country intensifies, according to the United Nations Humanitarian Agency, the price of basic commodities such as fuel, staple foods and water has risen by 60 per cent or more due to supply problems resulting from the fighting in Khartoum and other parts of Sudan.
