Thinaah stormed into the quarterfinals of the Malaysia Masters after beating Rena Miyaura-Ayako Sakuramoto of Japan 21-17, 18-21, 21-19 in a 89-minute second round thriller. The match saw both pairs playing a total of 211 shots when Pearly-Thinaah was taking a 16-14 lead in the third set.
