Hyundai Motor ($HYMTF@South Korea) will invest $28 billion over the next decade to increase its annual investment in electrification, aiming to raise its EV sales target to 2 million units by 2030. The company plans to expand local EV production in the United States, Europe, and South Korea, aiming for EVs to account for 75% of its total vehicle production in the United States by 2030. Hyundai Motor plans to explore compatibility with Tesla's charging standard while restructuring its struggling China business by selling plants, reducing its product lineup, and prioritizing high-end and SUV models for profitability. Hyundai also plans to invest $7.4 billion in the next decade to enhance its battery capabilities. It focuses on developing cost-effective lithium-iron-phosphate batteries while aiming to source over 70% of batteries through joint ventures and collaborations with specialized companies to ensure a stable supply.
