WWII Californian veterans received Legion of Honor

France is pleased to announce that two World War II (WWII) veterans, Col H. Ben Walsh and TSgt Darrel Larsen, have been approved for the award of the National Order of the Legion of Honor with the rank of Chevalier (Knight). The award is the highest honor France bestows on its citizens and foreign nationals. They are presented in gratitude for the valor by Allied soldiers in france during WWII, and in recognition of the 60th Anniversary of the landing of the Allied soldiers in Normandy, France June 6th 1944.
