Sati and Shyam were friends from a very young age. Once, Shyam leaves the village to study in Kolkata. Upon his return, he searches for his childhood friend Sati and their friendship blossoms into love. Shyam's father opposes their relationship. Through his scheming, Sati's marriage is arranged elsewhere. To save her family from trouble, Sati agrees to the marriage. Later, Shyam discovers the truth and realizes Sati's sacrifice.
